NIU's career development program includes a comprehensive placement process led by the Corporate Resource Center and Placement Cell (CRCP). This process includes personality development, gap identification, mock interviews, pre-placement counseling, CV formation, live projects, and internships. Students undergo a rigorous course curriculum, real-life practical training, and internships in reputed research institutes or corporate houses. A mandatory summer internship of 6-8 weeks with reputed organizations helps students apply theoretical concepts to real-life management settings, sharpening their problem-solving abilities. Short-term live projects with leading companies provide valuable industry insight.

The CRCP emphasizes grooming and refining communication and behavioral skills, making students good fit for the industry. The academic environment utilizes the state-of-the-art infrastructure provided by NIU, and there are numerous opportunities for extracurricular activities to promote holistic growth. NIU has consistently maintained a strong placement record, helping students pursue careers in their dream companies and become successful leaders. The institution continues to grow and improve its services to its students.

Training & Placement Process

The Training & Placement Cell aims to enhance employability skills among students by integrating them into academic environments and leading them towards a bright career. It partners with industry organizations to provide the best career opportunities for NIU students in India and abroad. The Cell provides career guidance, soft skills, aptitude, and technical training to help students gain a competitive edge in recruitment, groom their confidence, and develop their personalities.

Training

The Placement & Training Cell of NIU offers various programs to help students achieve placement in various companies. These programs are formulated after analyzing the unique requirements of different companies. Industry experts organize guest lecture sessions to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Training programs are offered in Aptitude, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical reasoning, and Verbal through reputed external training centers. These programs help students gain a competitive edge in recruitment, groom their confidence, and develop their personalities. Technical training programs are conducted by experts, while language learning programs focus on developing communication and foreign language skills. Group discussions and mock interviews are also used to prepare students for professional interviews.

Placement Process

Students can apply for jobs in their specialization through the placement cell, but they cannot apply for jobs through press advertisements or organizations that have not notified the cell about their requirements. Students should inform the cell if they have previously applied for the same company. If a company has approached the Placement Cell or is in the process of approaching the T&P for placements, students should only approach them through the Placement team. Language learning programs are available to help students develop communication and foreign language skills. Students are advised to keep multiple copies of their resumes.

Short Listing

Companies can shortlist students based on information provided by students, company recruitment drive criteria, registration profiles, or CVs/resumes. If a company requires a shortlisting without explicitly citing any criteria, it will be determined in consultation with the school's Director and the placement officer, ensuring that the criteria are determined in line with the company's recruitment drive.

Interview Procedure

The placement official will send a confirmed date via email to the Head of Department, school coordinator, and students applying for the company. No modifications will be made, except in unusual circumstances. The company will visit the campus or invite students for tests or interviews according to their recruitment process.

Withdrawal Procedure

Students can withdraw from a company after the Pre-Placement Talk, but cannot withdraw once the selection process begins unless they receive a final offer from another organization during registration and interview. It is assumed that students apply for a position after careful consideration of all relevant aspects.

The Placement Cell aims to assist graduating students in finding suitable placements, recognizing that placement is a privilege rather than a right. Any student's breach of rules will be taken seriously by the Cell, who may take action. The Cell may modify or impose additional placement norms based on its discretion, benefiting the students immediately or in the future. The Registrar/Director is the final authority in disputes, and their decision is final.
